Syllabus for the JPSC Civil Services Main Examination
The Main Examination shall consist of Six compulsory papers, common to all candidates. first paper for 100 marks and paper II for 150 marks. Both papers shall be language-based and the remaining four papers each of 200 marks, shall be subject-based. The detailed syllabic of all other above six papers shall be as follows;-

GENERAL HINDI AND GENERAL ENGLISH
The General Hindi and General English paper shall be a composite paper consisting of two segments, namely, (I) Hindi, and (ii) English. Both the segments shall be of equal weightage i.e. each of 50 marks. The purpose of the paper is to test the working knowledge of the candidates in the above two languages. As such, the questions to be asked in both segments of this paper shall be of matric standard only and shall be confined to the following areas:-
