Partten of Examination
The selection process for the Jharkhand Secretariat Stenographer Competitive Examination 2024 will conducted in two stages:
- First Stage: Skill Testing Exam
- Second Stage: Written Examination
1. FIRST STAGE: SKILL TESTING EXAM
Paper-1: Hindi Shorthand Test
- Hindi Stenography Test: Candidates will undergo a stenography test where they will transcribe a Hindi dictation of 500 words at a speed of 50 words per minute for 10 minutes.
Paper 2: Computer Aptitude and Driving Test
- Typing the above table-wise data on MS Word.
- Calculations related to data entry and averaging, addition, subtraction, etc. on MS Excel
- Preparing Pie Chart and Bar Chart based on data prepared on MS-Excel.
- Based on the data prepared in MS Excel, a slide will have to be prepared for PowerPoint presentation in MS PowerPoint.
- A folder containing all the documents prepared from the above paragraphs (1) to (4) will have to be prepared and sent to a given address (Email).
The total duration of this examination will be 1.5 hours (90 min) and the total marks will be 150 marks with 25-25 marks for each section, in which it will be mandatory to get a minimum of 30 percent marks to pass.
Only the candidates who pass the skill test of the first phase will be included in the written examination under the second stage.
2. SECOND STAGE: WRITTEN EXAMINATION
The written exam will consist of two papers. All questions will be objective, with multiple-choice answers. Each correct answer will award 3 marks, and each wrong answer will deduct 1 mark.
Paper 1: The duration of this examination will be 3 Hours.

Paper-2 : (Regional/Tribal Language Knowledge):
- Candidates will be able to take the exam in any one language out of Hindi/ English/ Sanskrit/ Urdu/ Santhali/Bangla/ Mundari(Munda)/ Ho/Khadiya/ Kuduk(Oraon)/ Kurmali/ Khortha/ Nagpuri/ Panchpargania/ oriya based on option.
Note: Candidates must score at least 30% in each paper to qualify.
