Age Limit

Age Relaxation

To provide relief to those who may have missed recruitment opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a one-time age relaxation of 3 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit is offered for all categories:

• SC/ST candidates: Additional 5 years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: Additional 3 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation according to the length of service in the armed forces
• PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities):
  • General/EWS: 10 years
  • OBC: 13 years
  • SC/ST: 15 years
• Railway employees with at least 3 years of service: Up to 40 years for UR/EWS, 43 years for OBC, and 45 years for SC/ST

Exam Pattern

The selection process for RRB NTPC Graduate posts consists of multiple stages, including:

1. First Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT)

• Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates with scribe)
• Total Questions: 100 (Objective type)
• Subjects:
  • General Awareness: 40 questions
  • Mathematics: 30 questions
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 questions
• Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer.

2. Second Stage CBT

• Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates with scribe)
• Total Questions: 120 (Objective type)
• Subjects:
  • General Awareness: 50 questions
  • Mathematics: 35 questions
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 35 questions

3. Typing Skill Test (TST) / Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

• Applicable for posts like Junior Account Assistant cum Typist.
• Candidates must demonstrate typing proficiency.

4. Document Verification

Candidates who qualify for the CBTs will be called for document verification.

5. Medical Examination

Candidates must pass the prescribed medical examination to be considered for final appointment.

Selection Process

The final selection will be based on:

1. Performance in CBT 1 & CBT 2 (normalized scores will be used for merit listing).
2. Typing Skill Test (TST) or CBAT where applicable.
3. Document Verification and Medical Examination.
