RRB JE Recruitment 2024
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced the RRB JE Recruitment 2024, inviting applications for a variety of positions including Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA), Chemical Supervisor (Research), and Metallurgical Supervisor (Research). This recruitment is conducted under the Ministry of Railways, as per the guidelines outlined in Centralized Employment Notice (CEN) No. 03/2024.

Age Limit
The age limit for candidates applying for the RRB JE Recruitment 2024 is set between 18 to 33 years as of January 1, 2025
Detailed Age Limits by Post
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 33 years
Age Relaxation
To provide relief to those who may have missed recruitment opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a one-time age relaxation of 3 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit is offered for all categories:
- SC/ST candidates: Additional 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: Additional 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation according to the length of service in the armed forces
- PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities):
- General/EWS: 10 years
- OBC: 13 years
- SC/ST: 15 years
- Railway employees with at least 3 years of service: Up to 40 years for UR/EWS, 43 years for OBC, and 45 years for SC/ST
- Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially Separated but not Remarried: Up to 35 years for UR/EWS, 38 years for OBC, and 40 years for SC/ST
Qualification
Candidates applying for various positions under this recruitment must meet the specific educational qualifications required for each post:
1. Junior Engineer (JE) / Depot Material Superintendent (DMS):
- A diploma in Engineering or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field is mandatory.
2. Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA):
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Chemistry or Physics is required.
3. Chemical Supervisor:
- A degree or its equivalent in Chemical Technology from a recognized University or Institution.
- The degree must cover one or more of the following specialized fields:
- Petroleum Products
- Paints and Corrosion Prevention
- Polymers
- Proficiency in any computer programming language is essential.
4. Metallurgical Supervisor:
- A degree or its equivalent in Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
- Proficiency in any computer programming language is essential.
Selection Process
The selection process for RRB JE Recruitment 2024 consists of several stages:
- 1st Stage CBT: A screening test of 100 questions focusing on Mathematics, General Intelligence, Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science.
- 2nd Stage CBT: A more detailed exam with 150 questions covering General Awareness, Physics & Chemistry, Basics of Computers and Applications, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control, and Technical Abilities specific to the post.
- Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in CBT will undergo document verification.
- Medical Examination (ME): Final selection will be contingent upon passing a medical fitness test
Salary for RRB JE
The salary structure for RRB JE Recruitment 2024 positions follows the 7th CPC Pay Matrix:
- Junior Engineer (JE), DMS, CMA: Level 6 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with an initial pay of ₹35,400 plus allowances.
- Chemical Supervisor (Research), Metallurgical Supervisor (Research): Level 7 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with an initial pay of ₹44,900 plus allowances.
